I have lessons twice a week with Shizuko-san starting from only knowing Hiragana and Katakana and no previous speaking practice. I'm currently residing in Japan and have found the lessons are greatly improving my speaking, reading and vocabulary! The lessons are structured for ensuring my learning is progressing but also allow for some chats about my week so I can practice my day to day speaking too! Shizuko-san is patient when I don't know something and am trying to find the words and very encouraging with my progress! I feel comfortable in our lessons to make mistakes and ask questions when I am confused! Highly recommended her teaching for any level!!!
